Shindong was glad he hadn’t waited in Eeteuk’s apartment. When he returned in the morning, he still hadn’t come back. He sat in a comfortable leather chair, his legs crossed and stared up at the ceiling, hoping he’d be back soon.
A drained man --who looked like Teuk, but didn’t act like him—- entered the apartment, dragging himself to his couch; it had been a long night. The words were ringing in his ears like Christmas bells. I’m not the kind of guy who has sex with just anyone. Maybe we can continue this seriously. Kibum was sincere, Teuk knew it, but what did his heart think?
“Earth to Eeteuk!” Shin shook his friend gently.
“Sorry, just thinking about life.” Teuk sighed, rubbing his forehead as though contemplating his own words.
“Oh, well, I kind of have something to say.” Shin cleared his throat; his mouth always became dry when he was nervous.
“Can it wait until I’m awake?” Teuk asked promptly.
“Yes, of course. I’ll get us some breakfast.” Shin left the apartment, going to a nearby restaurant.
Siwon and Kangin arrived soon after Shindong left, bags with disturbing toys in their hands. Teuk rubbed his brow, hoping that wasn’t meant for him to use.
“This is for you!” Kangin announced cheerfully, handing over a pink vibrator.
“I didn’t really want to buy it, but Kangin insisted you liked these kind of things.” Siwon coughed behind his fist, a cute shy smile paved over his face.
“Not now, please.” Eeteuk closed his eyes, trying to forget the infectious sounds Kibum had produced during the entire night.
“Oh,” Siwon glared at Kangin, mouthing out swear words. He knew it was a bad idea. “I’ll just put them in your room then.”
Kangin sat next to Teuk, petting his cheek gently. “I know something you don’t know.”
“I think that goes without saying.” Teuk wasn’t in the mood for humor.
“Shindong likes you.” Kangin escaped into Teuk’s bedroom, helping Siwon to lift up the broken dresser.
The day couldn’t get much worse, Eeteuk was convinced. Not only was Kibum seeping into his mind at a dangerous pace, not only was Kangin always there selling his body to dozens of strangers, not only did he doubt his attachment to Siwon, but now his best friend –whom he’d known for over 10 years— was in love with him. Teuk growled deep in his throat, kicking his legs about and slamming them against his carpet.
“Is this a bad time?” Kibum pushed the front door open softly.
“What now!?” Teuk gasped, not expecting Kibum to be there. He hadn’t divulged any personal information to him last night. “How did you find my place?”
“My brother had it taped to his night stand, I knew your name seemed familiar.” Kibum entered; his steps even and soft. “I brought you flowers.”
“Thank you, but I’m kind of dealing with a crisis right no—“
Siwon slapped Kibum’s hand away, throwing the flowers to the ground. “What the fuck are you doing here?”
Eeteuk gripped the chair he was seated in, paralyzed by how aggressive Siwon had become. “What’s going on?”
“This little ass is my little brother. He always wants to take what’s mine.” Siwon pointed to Kibum, his voice filled with anger.
“Technically, I’m not yours yet—“
Kibum cut in abruptly. “First of all, I got a recommendation from Heechul. Secondly, that was one time in high school. I just saw his address on your desk, so I came here. I didn’t know you were seeing him.”
Siwon pushed Kibum back. “Well I am, so go back to the hole you came out of.”
Shindong slipped into the house, hands full with styrofoam containers. “I have breakfast--” Shin’s mouth dropped, seeing the two handsome men fighting over Eeteuk.
“Shut up! All of you! This is my place, I don’t want to clean up the mess just because you think you’re proving your love to me.” Eeteuk had his fists leaning against his hips; he was not backing down.
“But—“ Siwon started.
“No buts! I’m sick of you all giving me headaches as I try to make a decision. Get out, I’ll let you know who I’ve chosen tomorrow.”
“Even me?” Shindong said quietly.
“Even you! Kangin told me you liked me!” Teuk snapped in response.
Shindong narrowed his eyes at a whistling Kangin. Teuk continued to ramble while he pushed all four men out, one at a time. He couldn’t think with all their excuses and racket disrupting his thought process.

Siwon and Kibum stared at each other as Kangin tried to convince them to stop arguing. The decision was up to Eeteuk, and if he wanted one more than the other, they had to live with it and move on. They complained that it was easy for him to say, since he no longer had feelings for the man in question.
Shin stayed quiet; he knew he had no chance with Teuk. Friends could never date because it just made their relationship awkward, and eventually, fall apart. Kangin patted Shin on the shoulder: “I know how you feel.”
Once they arrived at Siwon’s parents’ mansion, all the annoyance seemed to fade away. Kangin and Shin had fun tasting a piece of each snack in the fridge, while Kibum locked himself in a spare room, listening to music loudly. Siwon was the only one used to this house so he paced around, frustrated with how long it was taking Eeteuk to decide.

Teuk decided he would go about it in a logical way. He took a piece of paper and wrote down the four names and calculated the positive and negative for each, as well as the first thing that came to mind when he saw their name.
In Kangin’s case, all Teuk could picture was a dirty, young man who sold others for profit. He was completely out of the question. Besides, Kangin could be with someone else among his friends, if he wished.
Shin was a wonderful friend, but just that; a friend. Teuk couldn’t imagine being romantically linked to someone he’d grown up with, even though it would be easier to explain his weird habits to him. Shin was great guy who deserved better, anyways.
The problem lied, once again, with the two brothers; Siwon and Kibum. The situation wouldn’t have been much different had he not found out, because they were so similar it was like choosing between two delicious apples. Both were shiny and red, both were delicious to taste, both had the same components, but if one looked closer; every apple was different.
Eeteuk growled; logic wasn’t working. It was time to move onto feelings.

Kangin whispered to Shin: “I know someone who used to work for Siwon. He’s really interesting and pretty, just like Eeteuk. Maybe you would like to meet him.”
Shin huffed, shrugging his shoulders. No one could compare to Teuk; the angel with white devil horns.
“Good, ‘cause it seems like Siwon rehired him. He’s right behind you.” Kangin shoved Shin into Heechul, who caught him quickly.
Shin leaned back, looking at Heechul upside down. “Oh, I’m sorry.” He really was just as pretty, if not more. And those thick frames made him look like a superhero in disguise.
Heechul smiled softly, helping Shin up and holding his arm gently. “Nice to meet you, I guess you’re a friend of Kangin’s? Or Siwon maybe?”
Kangin wrapped an arm around Shin’s shoulders. “Both.”
“How quaint.” Heechul said softly.
Shin’s eyes lit up; he didn’t know anyone else who liked to use that expression. He really could pass for Eeteuk’s twin. Maybe he would spend some time with this man instead. Heechul rambled about what he’d been through, guiding Shin around the mansion.
Kangin was proud of himself; finally he’d done something good.

Eeteuk ground his teeth; he really didn’t know how to choose between those siblings. And even if he had an idea of which he wanted, how could he explain it to the other without causing too much pain? This was quite a pickle he’d gotten himself into (no thanks to Kangin, also).
He dug his spoon in the 2L tub of chocolate ice cream. Though he knew most women did that when they were upset, if anyone accused him of being a woman, he’d break their fingers one by one. But that was another story.

Siwon decided he had to reason with his useless, little brother.
“If I pay you to get lost, will you?” Siwon whispered, knowing Kangin liked money a bit too much.
“Depends on how much.” Kibum felt smug. “How much do you think Eeteuk is worth?”
“I’ll give you 1 mill to disappear.” Siwon said dryly. Money was no object.
“Is that all he’s worth to you?” Kibum chuckled, rolling his eyes as though insulted by the amount.
“10 million.” Siwon took out his checkbook.
“I’m almost shocked by how little he means to you.” Kibum shook his head side to side.
“Listen you little shit, he’s worth more than your organs.” Siwon growled.
“That’s more like you. And besides, no amount of money is worth Eeteuk in my eyes.” Kibum scoffed, turning to look for juice in the fridge.
Kangin tried to hold in his laughter, well aware of how powerful Siwon could become with people he loved.
Siwon leaned in; it was war now that he knew his brother was involved. “Let me ask you this: are you still in the closet? Still hiding it from mom and dad?” Siwon pretended to wipe a tear from his eye. “You should know that Eeteuk is a very open man, do you think he’d accept that?”
“Maybe if I said it with all the honesty in my heart, he would.” Kibum seemed a bit less cocky.
“We’ll see.” Siwon took the glass of orange juice from Kibum’s hand, drinking it down.

Eeteuk had chosen. Finally, his mind was made up and it was crystal clear. Why hadn’t he seen the answer sooner? (He wouldn’t have to feel so sick from all the ice cream he scoffed down.) He stretched happily; he could finally announce it without any doubt in his mind.
Teuk called Shindong’s cell; it was automatic after all these years.
“Tell the boys--” Shin giggled, fingers twirling in his hair. Eeteuk was a bit concerned. “Are you with someone?”
Shin cleared his throat, telling Heechul to stop teasing. “No, what were you saying?”
“Tell them I’ve decided.” Shin continued to giggle. The kissing sounds were so loud Teuk could hear them over the phone. “I guess you don’t need to come.”
“Oh, I’ll come anyways. I’m your friend, right?” Shin smiled against the receiver. Heechul took the phone and said softly. “But he’s with me now, too bad for you.”
The phone went dead. Teuk could hardly believe his ears. Was that Heechul saying that he was with Shin? And why did he feel a pinch to his heart? It didn’t matter now, he’d decided his fate.

Siwon pushed Kibum away from the door, letting himself in first. He was set on doing anything he could to keep Eeteuk by his side. If that meant stabbing his brother, he would. (Though, he knew it wouldn’t get to that point.)
Teuk smiled at Siwon, gesturing for him to sit on the sofa. Kibum entered after, glaring at his older brother and sitting at the far end of the couch. Shin --with a disturbingly happy smile on his face-- and Kangin sat between the feuding brothers to keep them calm.
“So I’ll try to make this brief. Shin; I love you, but not in that way.” Teuk sighed, covering his eyes, expecting the worst.
There was no sobbing, no complaining, no screaming; he seemed okay with it. “I’m going to start seeing Heechul.”
“Heechul?! That deranged psychopath who drugged me and forced himself on me?” Eeteuk could hardly believe the words coming out of his own mouth.
“It just shows me how dedicated he is.” Shin had stars in his eyes.
Teuk grumbled and waved for him to leave, but he shook his head, deciding to stay. He wasn’t going to interfere with a crazy man’s happiness. If it took a psychotic one to please an insane one, then so be it.
“Kangin, I don’t trust you. That’s it.” Teuk shrugged his shoulders.
“Yeah, I figured. But I don’t really mind either.” Kangin chuckled, slapping Shin’s knee in a friendly way. “I have more friends because of it, though.”
Teuk smiled; it was strange how life worked out for the better. But now it was down to serious matters. He watched as Siwon fidgeted and bit his nails while, on the opposite side, Kibum was completely still.
“Well, you two. The thing is, I had problems deciding because you are so alike.” They leaned up to glare at each other. “See what I mean? You even react the same.”
They chuckled a bit, stopping quickly; impatient to hear the verdict.
“But I’ve decided—“
“Wait! Kibum isn’t out of the closet yet!” Siwon blurted out.
“Okay Siwon, but those things don’t matter to me.” Teuk said calmly, his gaze going to Kibum who had dropped his head in shame.
“I’ve decided I want Siwon. Not because he’s more attractive, nor because he’s better in bed. But I realized why I liked Kibum so much. Kibum reminded me of all the good things in Siwon.” Teuk smiled softly, picturing their night together. “And as much as I loved being with you, Kibum, I can’t live with the copy of the man I truly love.”
Eeteuk got out of his seat and let himself fall on Siwon. “You’re my man. You better like me.” Siwon giggled and kissed Teuk softly, squeezing him tightly to his chest.
Kibum sighed loudly, leaving the room without so much as a goodbye. Shindong and Kangin cheered for the new couple, hugging them both and going their separate ways.
